Moved on~~

It has been a really down week for me, my hubby is not around in SG as he is posted to NZ for 2 weeks training, LKY passed away on 23rd March 2015. I don't read politics neither am I interested, but his passing away made me feel affected (although the feeling came abit slow). It all started when I paid tribute to him on 25 March at Hong Lim park with my whole team.. I felt an indescribable feeling, uncontrollably sad. I don't know him personally but I really appreciate what he has done for the country. Seeing the queue to the Parliament House from my office building, the queue that will last for hours even it is opened for 24hours, the state funeral on tv and all the people gathered along the journey to the crematorium, made me feel proud to be a Singaporean because we had such a great man in history and most people knows that!  I've heard stories about him being this and that, all the bad things about him taking credits or other people work etc, but still, he has done what he has to do for us to enjoy what we have now, like me having the luxury of lying on my comfortable bed, typing this post. No one is perfect and no one always do the right things.. At least he does things right for us to have what we have today..

I also felt like it's a brand new year and life for me ever since I moved on from my previous company. yes I am busier then before, but, I feel happier. Maybe because of the scope being more specialized and the change of my boss was the biggest impact to me.

I'm not a beauty junkie, people who know me knows that I don't exactly like to put on make up or use sophisticated skin care.. I can be SO lazy to the extend that I don't wash my face in the evening or even remove my makeup before going to sleep. But no longer, me now being in this industry requires me to put on make up everyday and not removing it can be really really bad to my skin. Anyway, most of my skincare are sort of "supplied", so 不用白不用.. Hehehe..

Unhappy person?

I came across a post on Facebook about what would unhappy people do, and guess what? I do like 90% of what was stated!

I always feel that Im quite happy with my life and always having this happy-go-lucky attitude, but who knows im actually "unhappy deep down", as what was stated.

Am i really such an unhappy person deep within but was covered up with my positive attitude? Time to reflect.

Traveling with the little one

My first post in 2014!!

As usual, I forgot that I have a blog, I didn't log into my computer for quite sometime, also partly because I have to stare at the computer for over 9hours everyday, and felt that I should rest my eyes and mind at home (that excludes looking at my phone and mini..)

Last year on 18nov to 22nov, was my first time traveling overseas with Inez! It's also been a while since my family travelled together! I think the last time was traveling to Malaysia or maybe Perth. Can't remember..

Nevertheless, I always wanted to travel with my parents,to sort of revive the long-lost feeling I had. My sister, as usual, always busy with her own stuff, so she did not go, but we have 2 additions, Inez and her cousin, Jeremiah! No, Hubs did not go as he has to stay for his internship.

We booked Royal Carribean cruise to Port Klang and Phuket, a 5d4n trip. I always though that cruise is good if you have children because it's safe and you can go back to the room as and when needed, like when they fuss, when they want to sleep or when they poo...

As it's also a long while since I've travelled (not counting Malaysia and work trips), I started packing early! Too many reasons to be excited!

Hmmm... I have never thought that bringing a child overseas can be so...troublesome? The amount of diapers I had to bring during a 5 days trip is already half a big packet, say about 20+ pieces? So many different kind, like during the day when I am outside, I will bring pull-ups. Before she changes into her PJs but after washing her up,I will use Petpet, and at night I will use Pampers. Oh ya, not forgetting her swim diapers!

Wipes, I need to bring the anti-bacterial ones, hand and mouth wipes and the normal wipes for diaper change. Anti-bacterial is when I need to wipe the table around her, her hands after touching dirty things etc, hand and mouth wipes usage is pretty obvious from its name and the normal wipes. I'll use the normal wipes when i poo too. Keke..

I also had to bring a small tin of milk, milk bottles, bottle brush, detergent, toys, clothes (PJs, outing clothes, bottoms, jacket etc).. The list goes on.... And my luggage got bigger.

Yes, I do have reasons for everything I bring. When you have a child, you will think ahead and run through what will happen during the trip, what is needed, what can she eat, what can she do when she is bored etc..I have a friend who brings slow cooker, rice, cooler box that contains meat for her child when she travels to a less developed country. Just imagine the amount of things to carry and how heavy it is?

Ok, enough about packing.

I really enjoyed myself at the cruise. Excellent service! I will love to go onboard again if possible..

This year, we are going Phuket.. Yes, my sis and Hubs are not going again, same reasons. Hopefully one day they can join us and we can really travel as one whole family!

So exciting! I'm already planning what to bring to wear and throw there already. Hehe..

Updates~~

Wow, I suddenly remembered that I have a blog.. 3 in fact.. and the last update was in 2011.

I had an urge to type, so "blog" came to my mind. No one reads my blog already anyway.. so might as well type everything here.

Inez has grown up to be a pretty little lady, a very cheeky one for sure. This coming May, she will be 2 years old. Time really flies!

I also left ScienTec last April and started as an Internal HR since 2012. A big difference from my Degree, but whatever, I am enjoying what Im doing right now. A lot more administrative but yet able to help the employees in my company. Love it! Im also in my dream company, yes, i cannot believe it for the first few months, even till now. Its like a God-sent gift for me, the 3rd best thing after Hubby and Inez. =)

Hubs has also taken a huge step from a Full time working Daddy to a Full time studying Daddy. Really grateful that he is taking this chance to study his Deg and planning to move up in his career. Well, I know a lot of people are like talking behind our back, that he should have planned before getting married, having a child etc.. but as long as I know that Im a supportive wife with a very supportive family and in-laws, I'm happy with that. Hubs sometimes I know do get affect when people gave the "look", but i also know that this somehow will make him stronger and prove to the others that he is not that easily "defeated".

I know my life in the near future would be better than current.

When I think back at times, I feel so lucky to have nice people around me. My ex boss in ScienTec is still helping me out, my current boss is also helping to push me up. My colleagues are really nice, they will help me when they see that I'm busy. The cleaner helps me to put fruits for the staff, my colleague helps me to print the timesheets and give out letters. I know these are little things but I really appreciate them for what they have done for me.

My boss has a family and 2 kids. One is the same age as Inez, he definitely understands the need of taking urgent child care leaves. Also, my company has a nursing room! I feel so damn lucky! Nursing room with a fridge, washing basin, steriliser, comfy sofa etc!

Unlike my previous co where i had to pump in the meeting room and surrounded with colleagues (with and without kids) that do not understand why I insisted on breastfeeding. Only my team mates understands as my ex boss has 4 kids whom she breastfeed all the way.

I know I must cherish what I have right now as I will never know what will happen or change in the future.

I will update here often... or at least i will try..

Babyspa~

Last weekend was a fun one.. Brought Inez out on both days..

Saturday was Ah Gong's birthday.. So we brought her to Ah Gong and Nai Nai's place.. Dressed her up in clothes given by Auntie Fion and Yiyi.. She looks cute in it just that we need to strip her naked to change her diapers.. lol.. But nevertheless, her Nai Nai is more than willing to do so =)

Happy Mood
*Stoning*

Inez's first time swimming!!

Brought here to Babyspa on Sunday!! Godpa and Auntie Meixi followed us there and Auntie Meixi brought a SUPER BIG camera to take a vid of her.. Its actually her new IPad 2.. hahaha

We went to Harbourfront's BabySpa and suprisingly, there wasnt alot of people...She was quite nervous initially because her feet could not feel the ground.. So she cried abit when she was put into the water.. But after a while, she kinda enjoyed it especially when the Auntie massaged her to relax her muscles.. She cried again because she was hungry..she drank really fast when Hub fed her after dressing her and soon fell aslp. Think it was too tiring for her.. But as least she enjoyed =))

The people really hard sell the package man.. 10 times for about $250 (around there i think).. One session was about $33 for 15-20 mins.. Thats the maximum they can swim for the first time and slowly increase when she goes there.. Because its really tiring for babies.. Nope, wasnt tempted at all to sign the package because its really quite expensive.. The auntie there told me that there is one baby who swim everyday without fail since her full month.. Haha.. rich people can la..

Anyway, Im really happy!! Because Inez is willing to latch on again!! Ha!! I already gave up trying to latch her for full feeds or desserts/snacks because she just doesnt want to. Thought that she prefers the flow of the bottles because its faster.. But one night, after knowing from a mummy that her baby only latches after 1 month, I decided to give it one last try when she was sleeping with me one night.. but actually, I was also kinda lazy to get up from my bed to prepare the milk..and TA DAH!! She latches till she's full and slept till morning!!

I was so happy and decided to try again in the day time because I thought that it could be her just woke up from her sleep, hungry and just "grab" whatever was in front of her that gives milk.. She latches on again! So till today, I will try to latch her at night so that I can save the trouble washing the bottles and heating up the milk.. Hopefully one day, I will bring her out with NO bottles! hehehe..

Im starting work on the 20th July.. Wanted to keep my ML for more important uses like bringing her for jabs and stuffs since I can keep it till her 1st birthday. Hehe.. So I got myself ready by doing manicure!! LOL... Gelish nails @ Fiona's! Love her works because she always give me ideas when I just cant decide what to do to my nails.. haha..

Im a little excited yet scared to go back work.. Not sure how is it going to be like.. I would need to express every 4 hours and hopefully my HR dont come telling me I need to pay back an extra hour I took for expression. *cross fingers*
